AGIS, LLC is a suburban Phildelphia manufacturer and distributor of heat-resistant cloth for personnel protection and fire retardation.
Included are cloths manufactured from fiberglass, ceramic fiber and silicon.

CLOTH: FIBERGLASS

PLAIN. AGIS plain fiberglass cloth is a tightly woven cloth manufactured from texturized fiberglass yarn; it contains no compound, cement or wire. Selvaged edge will not fray or unravel. Meets U.S. Coast Guard requirements for incombustible material. Used in service conditions characterized by temperatures to 1000 F. Retains as much as 25 % of its tensile strength at 1000 F. Will not swell, stretch, shrink or change chemically during prolonged exposure to water.

Premium Grade. Densely woven cloth features surface-applied heat treatment, which renders the cloth free from most surface grit associated with fiberglass and allows for superior manufacturing capabilities.

Options:
- Style PM: Brass wire insert: for greater tensile strength. Thicknesses from .050" to .125"
- Style P19GAL Aluminized coating on one side for thermal reflection. Complies with MIL-C-20079 Class 10 Type 1
- Type PSS24G Special 24 oz./SY. fabric with stainless steel wire insertion for compliance with MIL-HHP-31F

Applications: Tadpole gasket covering, flange gasketing, oven door seals, pipe wrapping and insulation

Commercial Grade. Looser weave than premium grade cloth; not heat treated.

Applications: Flange gasketing, oven door seals, pipe wrapping and insulation Used where economy in pricing is a necessity.

RUBBERIZED. AGIS rubberized fiberglass cloth is a thick tightly woven fiberglass base cloth with a unique SBR rubber coating. The coating allows the rubber to seep into imperfections in the sealing surfaces and, when hardened, creates an airtight seal. Suitable in service conditions where temperatures and pressure do not exceed 380 F and 180 PSI respectively. May be manufactured to virtually any thickness and length by layering the 1/16" thick plies of material and then calendering them.

Options: Available with brass wire insert when greater tensile strength is required.

VERMICULITE COATED This is a plain, tightly woven cloth manufactured from texturized fiberglass yarn, coated with a special vermiculite compound and dyed blue. Meets U.S. Coast Guard requirements for incombustible material. Used in service conditions characterized by temperatures to 1800 F. Will not swell, stretch, shrink or change chemically during prolonged exposure to water. Because of the vermiculite coating, the tensile strength and chemical resistance are greatly enhanced over plain fiberglass cloth.

Applications: Ideal for applications where severe abrasion and chemical attack render plain fiberglass unacceptable.

CLOTH: SILICA

AGIS silica cloth is manufactured from continuous filament amorphous silica fibers. Capable of continuous use at 1800 F. It offers high temperature stability and flexibility, giving it the highest level of protection for personnel from molten metal splash, sparks and radiant heat sources.

CLOTH: CERAMIC

Woven ceramic fiber cloth A superior insulating cloth capable of withstanding continuous temperatures of 2300 F. Excellent resistance to thermal shock, corrosive attack, breakdown due to mechanical vibration and stress. Contains approximately 20% organic fiber. Alternative inserts: Inconel wire is inserted for greater tensile strength; suitable for temps to 2300 F. A glass filament may be inserted for use as a dielectric, suitable for temps to 1200 F.

Options: For personnel protection and fire retardation, heat treated cloth is recommended. Heat treatment removes the organic fibers, but reduces the thickness and strength of the tape slightly.
