AGIS, LLC is a manufacturer and distributor of
a wide range of pipe/pipe
flange gaskets, including full-face or ring gaskets (also known as RTJ, inner bolt circle
gaskets (IBC) or raised face). as well as a variety of other heat-resistant specialty products for industrial and
marine
applications. AGIS pipe/pipe flange gaskets are employed by virtually every industry throughout the world, including chemical processing, petroleum, waste/water treatment, steel & mining, food processing, boiler, steam, plant maintenance, power generation, metals/heat treating, transportation and marine, pulp & paper manufacturing, to name a few. About compressed synthetic fiber gaskets. Compressed synthetic fiber gaskets are comprised of various rubber binders, fillers and fibers, but typically have a much higher content of rubber binder to give the fibers mechanical strength. Because of the high percentage of rubber binder, CSF gaskets are less tolerant of temperature and pressure conditions above their design parameters and are more particular to their chemical resistance capabilities. About AGIS compressed synthetic fiber gaskets. Our compressed pipe flange gaskets are manufactured from AGIS compressed fiber sheet, which feature nitrile rubber-bonded synthetic fibers of high chemical stability, heat resistance and superior creep resistance at high temperatures. Service conditions: to 750 F, 1450 PSI (300 PSI saturated steam pressure); tensile strength of 2200 PSI. Green color. Leachable chloride content @ 100 PPM. Density @ 1.70 g/cc. Suitable for standard 150# and 300# class rings and full face pipe flanges. Available in sizes 1/2" through 30", 1/16" and 1/8" thickness Applications: Field-proven gasket sealing solution for chemical processing, petrochemical, refinery, power generation and pulp and paper plants, among others. Not recommended for applications involving sulphur dioxide, sulphuric acid, pyridine and phenol. Teflon® FLANGE SLIT-TYPE Envelope Gaskets. Manufactured with a slit-type Teflon envelope protective covering, which imparts the mechanical strength, resilience and bolt load retention of compressed sheet together with the chemical resistance of PFTE (Teflon). Maximum service temperature: 550 F. Used in equipment with glass, ceramic or glass-coated steel flanges. Available in #150 class full-face only Manufactured in eight standard fillers: compressed fiber sheet, neoprene, EPDM, BUNA-N, silicone, Viton®, Hypalon® and- when a higher pressure resistance is required-- corrugated stainless steel. Pipe sizes: 3/4" through 12" diameter; 1/16" or 1/8" thickness. Applications: Because Teflon is impervious to virtually all corrosives and exhibits a low coefficient of friction, AGIS Teflon envelope gaskets are ideally suited for the chemical and petrochemical industries. McDonnell & Miller Gaskets Our McDonnell & Miller gaskets are manufactured from AGIS's 1/32" thick compressed sheet. The sheet itself is manufactured with synthetic fibers of high chemical stability and heat resistance. It is nitrile rubber bonded. The sheet exhibits superior creep resistance at high temperatures, has a 750F temperature limit, 1450 psi, 300 psi saturated steam pressure and a tensile strength of 2200 psi. Green color.Leachable chloride content @ 100 PPM. Density @ 1.70 g/cc. Field proven solution for many industries, including chemical processing, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, pulp and paper plants. Not recommended for applications involving sulphur dioxide, sulphuric acid, pyridine and phenol. Metal Spiral Wound Pipe Gaskets About spiral wound gaskets. Spiral wound gaskets are formed by
winding two materials into thin v-shaped spirals. One material used in
the sealing element is usually a metal (for mechanical resistance) and the
other, referred to as a filler, which is a soft nonmetallic material, such
as Grafoil or Teflon (for resilience). Both are chosen for
compatibility with the sealing media and their ability to withstand the
operating conditions. Different configurations exist to handle
different flange designs and operating conditions. About AGIS spiral wound gaskets. AGIS spiral wound pipe gaskets are manufactured of layers of preformed 304SS metal strip (for mechanical resistance) and intermittent layers of soft filler material (for resiliency). Material is wound on forms to specific shape and size. Ends are then welded. Rated to 999 PSI and temps to 1000 (1999 PSI available) For extreme temperatures, a graphite filler can be used. Standard shapes available: oval, obround, pear, diamond, round, square. Applications: Spiral wound gaskets are typically used for high pressure applications, such as boilers , where pressures exceed non-metallic gasket capabilities; heat exchangers with centerwebs Types of Filler Grafoil® Filler. These AGIS spiral wound pipe gaskets are manufactured of layers of preformed 304SS metal strip (for mechanical resistance) and intermittent layers of GRAFOIL® flexible graphite filler. GRAFOIL® flexible graphite is a fluid sealing material made from pure, natural graphite flake with superior resistance to heat, fire, corrosion and aggressive chemicals. AGIS spiral wound pipe gaskets with GRAFOIL filler provide a tight seal after repeated exposure to the harshest environments. The most demanding industrial, chemical and petrochemical sealing applications can benefit from AGIS spiral wound pipe gaskets with GRAFOIL flexible graphite filler. From precision pipe threads to large valves and flanges, AGIS spiral wound products create a superior seal, filling pits, gouges and microscopic irregularities under only moderate bolt loads, leaving no open spaces – or voids for leak path improvement. Teflon® (PTFE) Filler. Manufactured of layers of preformed 316SS metal strip and intermittent layers of virgin grade Teflon (PTFE). A full sheet or strip-style gasket comprised of pure virgin PTFE. The material is wound on forms to specific shape and size, then welded to seal the ends of the metal strip together. The metal strip holds the filler, conferring mechanical resistance and resiliency to the gasket. The :"V" shape acts as a chevron ring reacting to changes in temperature and pressure,. When the gasket is seated, the filler will flow into any slight imperfections, roughness or other irregularities in the flange. Teflon is used as a filler when high chemical resistance is necessary. It also exhibits significant creep resistance.Service temperature of the Teflon filled gaskets is to 500F. Monel® Filler. Manufactured of layers of preformed Monel alloy (67% Ni and 30%Cu) strip and intermittent layers of virgin grade Teflon (PTFE). AGIS spiral wound gaskets with nickel-based Monel filler exhibit good resistance to various acids, such as hydrofluoric and sulfuric acid, and to alkaline solutions as well; they are highly resistant to atmospheric and salt water corrosion. Teflon is used as a filler when high chemical resistance is necessary. Maximum operating temperature is 1500F. Largely because of their corrosion resistance, AGIS spiral wound gaskets with Monel filler are well suited for piping used in the oil industry, in marine components and in chemical and hydrocarbon processing equipment. Grafoil is a registered trademark of GrafTech International Teflon® is a registered trademark of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company. Monel® is a registered trademark of Special Metals Corporation group of Companies.
