Recommended usage: most acids, solvents and molten metals
Service Conditions:
Temperature: 1000°F/538°C
pH Range: 0-14
NOTE: This inorganic fiberglass packing is highly resistant to most chemicals (except hydrofluoric, hot phosphoric acid and wet hydrogen chloride). Will not burn or smolder; retains high tensile strength at elevated temperatures while maintaining great flexibility. Will not shrink, swell or stretch.
CARBON-INCONEL (#1200-CIJ) Construction features include braided carbon yarn, Inconel wire insert, a graphite and plastic center core, and molybdenum coating. All organic materials, which tend to carbonize (due to extremely high temperatures), are eliminated, thus reducing adjustments required and loss of packing volume while in service. A corrosive-resistant inhibitor is compounded into the packing to protect valves that have been hydrostatically tested and stored. The rust inhibitor does not impair the performance of the packing. Sizes: 1/8" to 1" square in increments of 1/16" standard, consult factory for sizes larger than 1".
Service: valves, valve stems; rotary, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps
Industries: boiler, power plant, oil and refinery
Recommended usage: power plant packing, turbines, expansion joints, steam, superheated steam, hot gases, high temperature and high-pressure service conditions
Service Conditions:
Temperature: 1200°F/649°C
pH Range: 4-10
Pressure: 2500 psi
PURE GRAPHITE (#1200-G) Braided pure graphite filament yarn, which has a low coefficient of friction. A lightweight yarn which increases the yield (feet per pound) compared with asbestos or Teflon. Inasmuch as graphite is an excellent heat conductor, this packing dissipates heat in the stuffing box, allowing a much higher shaft speed.
Sizes: 1/8" to 1" square in increments of 1/16" standard, consult factory for sizes larger than 1".
Service: all rotary and reciprocating shafts, valves, dryers, blowers, churns and agitators. An excellent packing for top separators and outlet devices on continuous pump digesters.
Industries: valves, marine, chemical, pulp and paper mills
Recommended usage: chemicals, acids, non-oxidizing mineral acids, fuel oil, high pressure steam, strong caustics, boiler feed pumps, extreme hot water, control valves and aromatic and aliphatic solutions
Service Conditions:
Temperature: 1200°F/649°C in steam
800°F /427°C in oxidizing environment
-200°F /-129°C
pH Range: 0-14
Shaft Speed: Up to 3600 FPM
NOTE: Not recommended for fuming nitric acid, oleum and fluorine
GRAPHITE-GRAPHITE [NUCLEAR GRADE PACKING] (#1200-GG) Braided pure graphite filament yarn impregnated with a sub micron powdered inorganic pure graphite. After braiding, a lubricant is applied to provide a film between the shaft and the packing. Sizes: 1/8" to 1" square in increments of 1/16" standard, consult factory for sizes larger than 1".
Service: boiler feed pumps, reciprocating and plunger rods, high speed shafts, valves, mixers, continuous digesters, agitator shafts, and in those severe service conditions where minimum leakage is critical.
Industries: nuclear power plants
Recommended usage: strong caustics, strong acids, natural petroleum, synthetic oils, aromatic and aliphatic solvents, steam, water. Throughout the entire pH Range, this packing is virtually inert.
Service Conditions:
Temperature: 6000°F /3316°C in non-oxidizing agents
1200°F/649°C in steam
800°F/427°C in oxidizers
-200°F /-129°C
pH Range: 0-14
Shaft Speed: Up to 4000 FPM
NOTE: Not recommended for fuming nitric acid, oleum and fluorine
