Braided. AGIS braided ceramic sleeving is manufactured from continuous polycrystalline metal oxide fibers Tensile strength of 250,000 PSI and continuous temperature use up to 2200 F. Sleeving is white, non-dyable, mildew resistant and unaffected by most acids and alkalis. Applications: Where severe heat protection is necessary, such as thermal protection for external wires and conduits and heat containment of interior piping. Woven. AGIS woven ceramic fiber sleeving is a superior insulating material, capable of withstanding temperatures to 2300 F. Excellent resistance to thermal shock, corrosive attack, breakdown due to mechanical vibration and stress. Contains approximately 20% organic fiber. Alternative inserts: Inconel wire is inserted for greater tensile strength; suitable for temps to 2000 F. A glass filament may be inserted for use as a dielectric, suitable for temps to 1200 F Options: For personnel protection and fire retardation, heat treated sleeving is recommended. Heat treatment removes the organic fibers, but reduces the thickness and strength of the tape slightly. |
